Martial Arts Seminar in India – Part I

At the end of January and the beginning of February 2025, soke Tomasz Piotrkowicz 10th dan together with two assistants: shihan Michał Piotrkowicz 6th dan and sensei Michał Polak 2nd dan conducted a Budo Seminar in India at the invitation of Horus Academy of India. The martial arts seminar, which included the study of karate, kobudo, battodo and a demonstration of fighting with soft, flexible weapons, was entitled „The spirit of budo in the 21st century” and opened a series of such seminars in European Budo Association.

The seminar was preceded by Master Piotrkowicz’s visit to several dojos and to the Indian Karate Championships, which were held in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The seminar, which the organizers also called the budo camp, enjoyed great interest and commitment of the participants from India. It was held at the Meditation Center and had a beautiful, traditional opening ceremony with Hindu meditation instructors.

Here is the first part of a photo reportage from this fascinating country and from the budo seminar, which was a great success for the prestige and rightness of the path followed by our Hanshi – Soke Mushin Ryu Bu Jutsu, a new budo system combining various Japanese martial arts under the common name Mushin-ryu. „Mu shin” means an empty mind in the Buddhist sense, a warrior spirit purified of emotions and unnecessary thoughts, desires and fears. At the Warsaw Karate Centre, we have the opportunity to train with Hanshi and his son, Michał, on a daily basis. People from other countries are in a more difficult situation 🙂
